The Role
Wildland is evolving its digital infrastructure to support a growing and dynamic organisation rooted in conservation, hospitality, and community.
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team. This is a key role in ensuring our teams are supported with reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems across our sites in the Scottish Highlands.
You’ll be the first point of contact for technical support, helping team members resolve issues with hardware, software, networks, and escalating issues as appropriate. You’ll also play a vital role in onboarding new staff, maintaining IT infrastructure, and supporting wider IT projects that help us grow sustainably.
This is a hands-on role that blends technical expertise with a proactive 'One WildLand Team' approach. You’ll work closely with our IT Business Manager and collaborate with partner organisations to deliver a seamless and secure IT experience.
Key Responsibilities

- Demonstrate personal responsibility for your own, your team, and visitors' Health & Fire Safety.
- Deliver on all key performance indicators relating to the IT Helpdesk.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and software applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Effectively manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within Microsoft 365, as well as monitoring and maintaining IT infrastructure such as printers, network devices, and other hardware.
- Own asset management records, ensuring all records are accurate and that all technical issues and resolutions are clearly documented within the helpdesk system.
- Contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments, while ensuring all activities comply with internal IT policies and security protocols.
- Provide training and support to users, promoting best practices and effective use of IT tools across the organisation.
Who You Are
- You are first and foremost a Team Player.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating an understanding of the internal customer needs.
- You have proven experience in a similar IT support role.
- You’re confident working with Windows and MacOS, and have experience administering Microsoft 365.
- You’re a problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a calm, customer-focused approach.
- You’re organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
- You hold a clean UK driving licence and are willing to travel across our Highland sites.
- You may also bring:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, or similar.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender, and enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Zendesk.
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations.
