The Role
We are looking for a Management Accountant to support the finance team during a period of change, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. This role will play a key part in enhancing financial processes, improving management information, and supporting the wider business functions. Additionally, the role will provide day-to-day support to Senior Finance Assistants and play a critical role in supporting a finance system change and a corporate group restructure.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts for key business areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
- Maintain detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts in collaboration with department leads.
Financial Process & System Improvement
- Support the transition to a new accounting system, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure financial records comply with accounting standards (UK GAAP/IFRS) and internal controls.
Business Partnering & Decision Support
- Work closely with operational teams (e.g., hospitality, property, conservation) to provide financial insights.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
- Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support key strategic decisions.
Compliance & External Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and other financial regulations.

Support for Group Restructure
- Play a key role in financial planning and analysis related to the Group Restructure.
- Assist in preparing in reconciliations for transitioning entities.
- Ensure alignment of accounting processes across the newly structured group.
- Support with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills, able to engage with non-financial stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in hospitality, property, or conservation sectors.
- Exposure to accounting system migrations or process improvement projects.
- Understanding of group structures and intercompany accounting.
